This is a full‑time position, open to experienced Mental Health Nurses (Registered Psychiatric Nurse qualification required)

About You

You are an experienced mental health clinician with strong clinical expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to work confidently in complex situations. You communicate effectively, build strong qualified relationships, and contribute positively to team culture.

About the Role

The Psychiatric Triage Service (PTS) provides a 24‑hour, seven‑day telephone assessment and response service, supporting access to Monash Health Mental Health Services.



PTS supports adult consumers aged 18-64 years and after-hours support for conusmers under 18 and 65 years and older.

As a PTS Clinician, you will:

- Undertake comprehensivepreliminary mental health assessments
- Determinethepresence, urgency, and natureof mental health concerns
- Coordinatetimelyresponses by:
- Referring internally to specialist mental health services
- Linking consumers with external agencies
- Providingclinical advice, support, and risk management guidance

You Bring

- Extensive experience managingcomplex mental health presentations
- A strong working knowledge ofmental health legislation, policy, and evidence‑based practice
- Excellentorganisationaland decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- A commitment to deliveringrecovery‑oriented, trauma‑informed care
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a supportive, multidisciplinary team

You Will Need

- Arelevant qualificationas outlined in the discipline‑specific supporting documentation
- A demonstrated commitment to working in mental health, including:
- Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health (as outlined in the position description below)
- Experience or understanding ofAlcohol and Other Drugs (AOD)andForensic Mental Health(highly regarded)




- Demonstrated experience in aninpatient unit or similar acute mental health setting
- Current AHPRA registration(where applicable)
