About the role
The GM, Aussie Retail holds full national P&L; accountability for one of Australia’s most recognised mortgage brands. This role presents a rare opportunity to lead and scale a national franchise network while driving sustained revenue and margin growth. The GM will focus on strengthening franchisee partnerships and network engagement, integrating Retail into a broader technology-enabled ecosystem, and shaping the future of retail mortgage distribution.
Job Description
Franchise Retail Strategy & Channel Growth
- Develop and execute the national Franchise Retail growth strategy aligned to Group objectives
- Scale the Retail footprint while protecting unit economics
- Drive sustained productivity uplift across the franchise network
- Ensure long-term channel sustainability and margin discipline.
Inspirational Network Leadership
- Lead and coach State Managers to build high-performing, growth-oriented teams
- Build strong, trusted partnerships across the franchisee network
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer excellence
- Act as a visible and credible leader across the Retail channel.
Performance & Commercial Accountability
- Own Retail P&L; and operating budget
- Monitor productivity metrics (lodgements, DPH, conversion, attachment)
- Drive structured business planning and disciplined performance management
- Embed data-informed leadership supported by our Agentic platform.
- Lead adoption of agent-assisted leadership tools to increase decision velocity
- Champion the integration of Retail within the Find–Buy–Own ecosystem
- Drive alignment between retail and broader distribution functions.
Leadership
- Serve as a senior member of the Distribution Leadership Team, contributing to strategic direction, decision-making, and organisational leadership.
- Demonstrate cabinet solidarity and executive presence
- Lead with integrity, accountability and long-term growth focus.
Key Measurements
- Retail revenue and contribution margin
- Franchisee productivity and settlement growth
- Network headcount growth and retention
- State-level NPS and engagement
- Campaign adoption and product penetrationBudget performance and cost management.
Qualifications
- 10+ years senior leadership experience in mortgage broking, franchising or financial services distribution
- Proven capability to grow and scale large sales or franchise networks
- Robust commercial acumen with demonstrated P&L; ownership
- Inspirational leadership style with ability to build trusted partnerships
- Ability to balance growth, compliance and customer outcomes
- Experience operating within a technology-enabled, data-driven environment preferred.
