The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Leading Hand to join our construction team. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, communicates confidently with trades and supervisors, and is ready to take greater ownership of site delivery. You will also have the prospect to manage smaller projects or defined work packages independently as your capability develops.
Responsibilities include:
- Support Site Supervisors with daily site coordination, planning and sequencing of works
- Coordinate trades, subcontractors, deliveries and materials across allocated work packages
- Monitor workmanship and progress against plans, specifications and project timelines
- Complete hands‑on construction and general site duties when required
- Maintain a clean, organised, safe and compliant site at all times
- Identify and promptly report quality, safety, access or scheduling issues, while helping drive practical solutions
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, senior carpenter or in a similar hands‑on residential construction role
- Strong experience in custom homes, high‑end residential construction or detailed building projects
- Sound knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, plans and quality standards
- Confident coordinating trades, managing site priorities and maintaining productivity
- A proactive, accountable and solutions‑focused approach, with strong attention to detail
- Current White Card and valid Australian driver licence; a relevant trade qualification will be highly regarded
- Strong physical capacity
- Competitive remuneration aligned with your experience
- Company vehicle and phone
- Exposure to premium custom homes and architecturally designed projects
- The opportunity to work with an experienced, collaborative and quality‑focused team
- Clear development and career progression opportunities as the business grows
- Modern systems, structured workflows and a professional culture that values craftsmanship and accountability
Please note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
