Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join the Community Musculoskeletal team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Grade 2 Physiotherapist will provide leadership and ensure high level, evidence-based physiotherapy care to our patients within the Community Therapy Services at Northern Health. This will primarily be based at Broadmeadows Hospital. It will require working closely with the senior team to ensure organisational targets are met.

The role includes the organisation, implementation, development and supervision of physiotherapy care and the promotion of best practice. The caseload for this position consists of treating clients referred for centred based therapy with a range of musculoskeletal, chronic pain, neurological, and general conditions both in the centre and at home.



It includes being involved in land groups, hydrotherapy, centre-based care and home-visits. This position provides the prospect to be involved in service development and drive quality improvement. Education and supervision of physiotherapy students and junior staff is an integral part of this role.

As physiotherapy services and programs at Northern Health continue to develop and evolve to meet the increasing demand of servicing the Northern growth corridor the role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours and may include working after hours, on weekends and public holidays. Staff will be required to travel and work across the various Northern Health campuses, programs, and partner organisations.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A background which includes significant clinical experience resulting in high level of skill in musculoskeletal and general physiotherapy
- Experience managing patients in the community (centre based and home based, individual therapy and group therapy)
- Demonstrated capability in service innovation and development.
- Demonstrates leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
- Well developed interpersonal skills
- Well developed organisational and time management skills




- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Skills in negotiation and conflict resolution
- Experience in the management and education of undergraduate students and junior staff
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice
