GIG Radiology Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join our Medical Imaging team on a contract basis. Based in Rosebud VIC 3939, this role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services to patients across our facility. As a Sonographer, you will play a vital part in our diagnostic imaging operations, utilising your expertise to acquire and produce clear, accurate ultrasound images that support clinical decision-making and patient care outcomes. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in medical imaging services.

Key responsibilities

Perform a full range of ultrasound examinations across multiple anatomical regions, including abdominal, vascular, obstetric, gynaecological and musculoskeletal imaging

Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring all machinery is calibrated and functioning optimally

Acquire high-quality diagnostic images and video loops according to standardised protocols and clinical requirements

Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout

Maintain accurate and detailed records of examinations, findings and imaging data

Communicate effectively with referring clinicians and radiologists regarding examination results and any incidental findings

Adhere to all radiation safety protocols, infection control standards and quality assurance procedures

Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support colleagues in the medical imaging department

Stay current with developments in ultrasound technology and diagnostic techniques through ongoing professional development

What we’re looking for

Formal qualification in Sonography or Medical Ultrasound from an accredited institution

Current registration with the Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) or equivalent professional body

Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant clinical experience as a qualified Sonographer





Demonstrated competency in performing a diverse range of ultrasound examinations

Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, imaging principles and safety protocols

Excellent patient communication skills and the ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds

Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality diagnostic images

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Current Working with Children Check (if applicable to your state) or willingness to obtain one

Professional indemnity insurance or willingness to obtain cover
