Personal Care Assistant – Stroke/Neurology Permanent Part-Time (0.6FTE)

We’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Stroke/Neurology ward at Cabrini Malvern.

About the Role

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses. This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts across a 7-day rotating roster, including mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays. Flexibility to cover a range of shifts will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care and support as directed by the registered nurse
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition
- Assist with maintaining a clean and comfortable patient environment
- Respond to patient and family enquiries, escalating as appropriate
- Uphold patient privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivities

About You

You’re a team player with a passion for patient care and a strong sense of empathy. You will also have:

- A qualification in Health Services Assistance, Individual Support or equivalent; or Current Nursing Student (Year 2 or above) with completed acute clinical placement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A cooperative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive situations
- Previous experience in an acute hospital setting (highly regarded)
