We're looking for an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to play a key role in delivering critical cyber security uplift initiatives across a large Queensland Government workplace.

In this hands-on role, you'll lead the technical implementation of security improvements, working across Microsoft technologies to strengthen security posture and support Essential Eight compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead implementation of Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across legacy applications and systems.
- Enhance and optimise Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM) , including logging and monitoring capabilities.
- Deliver cyber security uplift initiatives aligned with Essential Eight and industry best practices.
- Produce technical designs, documentation and implementation plans.




- Drive technical change management and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Support business continuity, backup, high availability and system decommissioning activities.

We're looking for experience with:

- Microsoft 365, Azure and Microsoft Security technologies
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Strong technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
