About Lara’s Clubhouse

Lara’s Clubhouse is a new community-focused café and social hub opening in Dubbo.

Our café will offer fresh salads, wraps, bowls and specialty-quality coffee during the day, before transitioning into a welcoming dessert and specialty-drinks destination in the evening.

The café is connected to an inclusive social and life-skills space for people with disability and the wider community. We are creating a beautiful, welcoming place where people can belong, grow and thrive.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Café Manager & Head Barista to help bring Lara’s Clubhouse to life and lead the café from opening day.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining café management with solid barista responsibilities. You will work closely with the owner to help establish the team, systems, coffee standards, service style and daily operations.

You will be expected to lead from the front, regularly work on the coffee machine, support staff during busy periods and ensure every customer receives a warm and consistent experience.

Key responsibilities

Manage the café’s day-to-day operations.

Lead the daytime salad-bar and evening dessert-bar services.

Deliver consistently high-quality coffee.

Set and maintain coffee recipes, extraction standards and milk-texturing standards.

Train and support baristas and café staff.

Recruit, supervise and motivate the café team.

Prepare rosters and manage shift coverage.

Oversee customer service and resolve concerns professionally.

Manage stock ordering,



supplier relationships and deliveries.

Monitor food and beverage costs, portion control and wastage.

Maintain attractive and well-stocked salad, grab-and-go and dessert displays.

Ensure food quality, presentation and service times remain consistent.

Establish and maintain opening, closing and cleaning procedures.

Oversee POS processes, cash handling and daily reconciliations.

Ensure compliance with food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety requirements.

Assist with menu development, promotions and seasonal products.

Support the smooth transition between daytime and evening service.

Work collaboratively with the wider Lara’s Clubhouse team.

Help create a respectful and inclusive environment for customers, staff and participants.

About you

You are an experienced hospitality professional who combines excellent coffee skills with strong leadership and organisation.

You will ideally have:

Strong barista skills and confidence working on a commercial coffee machine.

An understanding of specialty-quality coffee and consistent coffee preparation.

Experience dialling in grinders and maintaining coffee recipes.

Experience training and supporting hospitality staff.

Confidence managing rosters, stock,



suppliers and daily operations.

Strong customer-service and communication skills.

Good commercial awareness, including food costs and wastage.

The ability to remain calm, organised and positive during busy periods.

A practical, hands-on leadership style.

Genuine respect for people with disability and people from diverse backgrounds.

Availability to work weekdays, weekends and some evenings.

Experience opening a new café or hospitality venue.

Experience managing a salad bar, takeaway café or display-based food service.

Experience with dessert service or evening café operations.

Specialty-coffee training.

Food Safety Supervisor certification.

First Aid and CPR certification.

Experience in an inclusive, community or disability-focused environment.
