Laboratory Assistant Full Time - Anatomical Pathology

TissuPath Pathology Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant Full Time - Anatomical Pathology to join our team in Mount Waverley, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our anatomical pathology laboratory operations. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our pathology services, which directly impact the quality of patient care and diagnostic accuracy. This role is based on-site in Mount Waverley and offers the opportunity to work within a professional healthcare environment dedicated to delivering excellence in pathology services.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and processing anatomical pathology specimens according to established laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures

Assisting with the receipt, logging and organisation of tissue samples and medical specimens

Supporting pathologists and senior laboratory staff with specimen handling and preparation activities

Ensuring accurate labelling and tracking of specimens throughout the laboratory workflow

Maintaining detailed records and documentation of laboratory activities in accordance with regulatory requirements

Performing routine laboratory maintenance and cleaning of equipment, workbenches and laboratory spaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment

Contributing to a collaborative and professional laboratory team environment

What we're looking for

B. App. Sci (Medical Science) or equivalent





Formal training or certification in laboratory techniques is highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures accurately

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records

Good manual dexterity and ability to handle delicate specimens with care

Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to full-time employment

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a laboratory team

Understanding of health and safety principles relevant to laboratory environments

Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to laboratory procedures and technologies

Previous experience in a pathology laboratory or healthcare setting is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
