About the Opportunity

Are you a hands‑on leader ready to step into a high‑impact role? We’re seeking an experienced and operationally focused Distribution Centre (DC) Manager to lead our Melbourne site.

This is not a “watch from the sidelines” position, we’re looking for someone who thrives on the floor, understands transport operations deeply, and leads from the front. You’ll play a key role in driving performance, safety, and continuous improvement as we expand our footprint across the Eastern Seaboard.

About the role

Overseeing daily site operations to ensure efficient and reliable service delivery

Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of ~50 (supervisors, admin, drivers, and warehouse staff)

Driving operational improvements, productivity, and cost efficiencies

Maintaining compliance across WHS, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and fatigue management

Building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders

Ensuring safe, timely, and effective freight movement

About you

You’re practical, solutions‑focused, and calm under pressure. You understand that transport runs on people, systems, and timing not just theory

Proven experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, or distribution (cold chain/refrigerated or rail experience highly regarded)

Strong understanding of Trans‑Bass transport and logistics operations connecting Mainland Australia and Tasmania (highly advantageous)

Demonstrated leadership experience with a collaborative and hands‑on approach

Customer‑first mindset with a drive to exceed expectations

Solid operational knowledge and commercial awareness

Strong understanding of WHS, CoR, and compliance requirements





Confident communication skills, able to engage at all levels

Ability to balance day‑to‑day execution with strategic thinking

Competent in transport systems and Microsoft Office

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 5‑years leadership experience

Minimum 5‑years in transport/logistics

Working knowledge of NHVR, WHS, and QA standards

Certificate IV in Transport & Distribution, Warehousing, or similar (nice to have, not essential)

Certificate IV in Leadership/Frontline Management (nice to have, not essential)

Forklift licence (nice to have, not essential)
