Task & responsibilities
As a Painter at Smith&Co; Group Pty Ltd, your responsibilities will include: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure a flawless finish, addressing imperfections such as cracks, holes, or damage, in line with Smith & Co's high-quality standards. Select and mix paint colours to meet project specifications and customer preferences, maintaining consistency and precision for premium results. Apply paint, varnishes, or stains using brushes, rollers, and sprayers, ensuring a consistent and skilled finish on every project.
Erect scaffolding or ladders, and place protective materials such as drop sheets to shield adjacent areas, reflecting our commitment to meticulous preparation. Follow strict safety protocols, especially when working at heights or in confined spaces, using appropriate safety equipment like harnesses and goggles to maintain a safe work environment. Protect surrounding areas, furniture, and floors from paint splatter using masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective measures, ensuring no damage to client property.
Clean and maintain painting tools, including brushes, rollers, and sprayers,
to uphold our emphasis on professionalism and efficiency. Dispose of hazardous waste responsibly, adhering to environmental guidelines and Smith & Co‚Aos sustainability policies. Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) regulations, ensuring a protected and secure workplace for the entire team.
Communicate effectively with clients, builders, and team members to ensure alignment with project expectations, upholding Smith &a; Co.'s reputation for trusted relationships and quality results.
Qualification & experience
Painting & Decorating Trade Certificate required. Demonstrated work experience in high-end projects (minimum of 1 year) Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Expertise in painting techniques, tools, and materials. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality outcomes. Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Valid White Card. Robust work ethic. Additional Information: Only candidates with relevant industry experience and the skills to meet the required standards of work should apply.
