Job Description
IT Systems & Support Technician (Industrial Automation) About our client Kogan People Solutions has been retained by a leading automotive components manufacturer to recruit a highly focused tech professional for their automated production facility. Our client operates a state of the art, continuous manufacturing workplace where 100% of finished products undergo sophisticated, computer controlled validation before release. Due to operational expansion and the critical nature of their systems, we are seeking a dedicated IT Systems Support Technician to ensure their core industrial computing infrastructure remains online and optimized.
Role Overview This is a highly specialized, business-critical role embedded directly within an advanced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the continuous, real-time monitoring of two advanced Turbo Test Duo balancing and calibration systems driven by embedded software platforms.
To confirm: This is not a mechanical repair position. The primary objective is the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of the highly integrated computer systems, hardware interfaces, and proprietary software that governs the physical machinery. Location: Cheltenham, VIC Job Type: Full-time, Ongoing Salary $80,000 – $90,000 + Superannuation per annum.
Responsibilities
- Actively oversee and analyze the operation of embedded, computer-controlled industrial systems throughout the day.
- Instantly respond to automated software alerts and digital system alarms to isolate faults across integrated computer hardware and data logging modules.
- Resolve complex technical issues occurring within specialized proprietary software configurations and peripheral IT components.
- Manage, verify, and update software profiles, system parameters, and computer calibration data to guarantee operational accuracy.
- Maintain precise digital records of system errors, technical configurations, and software performance logs to feed into predictive risk management.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, or higher qualification in a highly related IT discipline or agreed substitute
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of professional experience supporting integrated computer networks, automated software platforms, or industrial IT hardware interfaces.
- Proven experience interpreting real-time software diagnostics, system logs, and bi-directional hardware/software integration.
- Strong ability to diagnose computing faults rapidly under pressure to minimize production downtime.
- Excellent communication skills to interface with production engineers.
- Ability to prioritise, multitask and work independently.
- A passion for learning and staying ahead of technology trends.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex IT issues.
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
