We’re seeking a Regulatory Revenue Modelling Analyst to play a key role in shaping Ausgrid’s forthcoming regulatory proposal. This role combines sophisticated financial modelling, commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement to support decisions that influence Ausgrid's future revenues and long-term strategy. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Network & Digital teams and senior management, as well as external parties including regulators and consultants, you’ll contribute to regulatory submissions that have a direct impact on Ausgrid’s forecast revenue and long-term business strategy.
This role is preferably based at our Sydney Haymarket location, but we are open to candidates who reside between here and Newcastle where our second head office is located. Your key responsibilities will be:
Prepare financial and regulatory analysis for Ausgrid’s standard control services (SCS) and alternative control services (ACS) regulatory proposals
Support AER submissions through drafting, stakeholder engagement and consultant coordination
Modelling of SCS and ACS regulatory revenues and prices
Validate and quality assure inputs to regulatory models
Provide regulatory inputs into corporate financial models
Prepare revenue data for the Reset Regulatory Information Order
Assisting with the data to be used for Ausgrid’s Regulatory Proposal
Collaborate with the Pricing team to support customer impact and forecast revenue analysis
Analyse regulatory information to strengthen Ausgrid’s regulatory position. What you bring to the role
This role offers a unique opportunity for a commercially minded analyst looking to build expertise in economic regulation and infrastructure. While prior regulatory experience is beneficial, it is not essential. We’re looking for someone with strong financial modelling capability, a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles, and the energy, curiosity and positive attitude to learn quickly.
You will be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of your work and solving problems proactively, including working under pressure and delivering high-quality outputs within quick turnaround times. You will also contribute as part of a small, motivated team that is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes for Ausgrid. To be successful, you will have: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, ideally including revenue forecasting
Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail and ability to reconcile data and assumptions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain English
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across teams
Proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work in a agile environment
Preferably (but not essential) have knowledge/understanding in Python
Knowledge of energy regulation or regulated industries will be advantageous. Candidates with strong financial modelling and analytical capability who are eager to learn will be highly regarded.
