About the role

The MyTime Play Helper supports children with additional needs while parents engage in MyTime activities. They help set up safe, engaging play environments, and assist in facilitating play-based activities under the direction of the MyTime Facilitator. The position for Play Helper is required at the MyTime Kadina group. Groups are delivered 6 times per school term, 3hrs per group.

Key duties of the role

- Facilitating child-related play activities for small group of children.
- Providing support for children with additional needs while parents participate in activities and discussions.
- Setting up an appropriate environment and the preparation of play and learning materials for children.
- Supporting the MyTime Facilitator with set-up,



pack-up and parent/member engagement before children arrive.
- Contributing to a team environment that promotes positivity, learning and development, safety, and welfare of employees, acknowledge differences and encourage creativity, innovation and honesty.

Skills and Experience

- Proven capacity to work with children with special needs.
- Ability to relate well to children and their parents from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances.
- Current First Aid Certificate, National Police Clearance (within 12mths), Working With Children Check (valid 5yrs).
- Ability to work well as part of a team, willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff at all levels.
- Creativity and initiative, you will bring the ability to perform work as instructed, under general direction and exercise limited judgment in the execution of the role.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills will be essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
