Are you passionate about designing, validating, and optimising complex IP network solutions in multi-vendor environments? We are looking for an experienced IP Networks Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in delivering robust, scalable, and production-ready network solutions.
About the Role
As an IP Networks Design Engineer, you will be responsible for validating network designs, building lab environments, executing end-to-end testing, and ensuring solutions are deployment-ready before production rollout. You will work across complex IP/MPLS environments and contribute to minimising implementation risks while improving delivery quality and customer confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Validation
- Analyse existing IP/MPLS network architectures and services
- Develop and validate scalable target network designs
- Review High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents
- Ensure solutions align with customer standards, security policies, and design principles
Lab Setup & Testing
- Build and configure lab environments replicating production scenarios
- Perform functional,
performance, interoperability, and failover testing
- Configure and validate:
- Cisco and Juniper routers/switches
- DHCP, DNS, Syslog, and BNG services
- Routing and security policies
- Identify design gaps and recommend optimisation opportunities
- Validate resiliency, redundancy, and high-availability scenarios
- Ensure solutions meet performance KPIs and SLAs
Documentation & Governance
- Prepare Golden MOPs (Method of Procedure)
- Develop:
- Test plans and validation reports
- Configuration templates and standard builds
- Design validation and acceptance documentation
- Support customer sign-off and governance activities
- Ensure solutions are production-ready with minimal deployment risk
- Provide rollout support, troubleshooting guidance, and knowledge transfer to implementation teams
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in:
- IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, TCPdump
- Basic automation knowledge using Python, Ansible, or NETCONF/YANG, Cisco ACI and NSO
- BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, MPLS (L2/L3 VPNs)
- EVPN/VXLAN (preferred)
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco and Juniper platforms
- Strong understanding of:
- Routing, switching, and security architectures
- DHCP, DNS, Syslog, and network services
- Proven experience in network lab validation and troubleshooting
Preferred Tools & Automation Skills
- IXIA, Spirent, Wireshark, TCPdump
- Basic automation knowledge using Python, Ansible, or NETCONF/YANG
Soft Skills
- Robust analytical and problem‑solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Strong stakeholder management capability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or Engineering
- Preferred certifications:
- CCNP / CCIE
- JNCIS / JNCIP
- Equivalent IP networking certifications
Experience Required
- 6–10+ years of experience in IP networking
- Strong background in network design, lab testing, and solution validation
