The Chance
The Assistant Lecturer will be a motivated and talented climate scientist, physical oceanographer or atmospheric scientist and a key member of the Monash climate variability and change group, which includes a focus on Southern Ocean and Antarctic climate.
Reporting to Dr Ariaan Purich, the Assistant Lecturer will conduct collaborative research within the Monash climate variability and change group, with the opportunity to co-mentor research students and conduct their own independent research. The Assistant Lecturer will have an interest in investigating processes driving Southern Ocean and Antarctic climate variability and change, exploring interactions between the atmosphere, ocean and sea ice. This includes exploring the influence of changes occurring around the Antarctic margins on the broader climate system. Experience with computational modelling is desired.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level units, including on the following topics: 1) climate science, 2) climate modelling, 3) climate change risks to society.
