The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and innovative Software Developer to join our team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer who enjoys building practical business solutions, leveraging emerging technologies, and contributing to digital transformation initiatives across the organisation.
As a Software Developer, you will work closely with business stakeholders to design, develop and enhance internal applications, automation tools and digital products that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
You will have the opportunity to work with modern development technologies, AI-enabled solutions and cloud platforms while contributing to a growing technology function within RLB.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain internal business applications and software solutions.
Build and support automation tools, digital workflows and productivity-enhancing applications.
Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Develop and integrate AI-powered tools, APIs and automation capabilities where appropriate.
Contribute to the creation of prototypes, proof-of-concepts and cutting-edge product ideas.
Troubleshoot, test and optimise applications to ensure reliability and performance.
Work collaboratively within cross-functional project teams.
2–3 years of professional experience as a Software Developer or in a similar role.
Strong software development, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience designing and developing internal business applications, digital products, or enterprise software solutions.
Proficiency in C# and .NET Core for application development.
Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, relational database design, and SQL query development.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and software design best practices.
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and an understanding of modern web application architecture.
Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and collaborative development practices.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, or similar to improve productivity and code quality.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills,
with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated willingness to learn new technologies, adapt to changing priorities, and continuously improve through feedback.
Experience building prototypes, proof of concepts (PoCs), or minimum viable products (MVPs).
Experience with Git and collaborative source control workflows.
Experience with Microsoft Azure services and Azure DevOps.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
Exposure to cloud-native application development and microservices architecture.
