Premium Graduate Placements (PGP) is partnering with Australian host companies in Sydney to offer Accounting Internship (Vocational Placement) opportunities for students and recent graduates.
This placement is designed to provide practical, industry-based experience in accounting and business operations, helping participants develop professional skills while gaining exposure to Australian accounting practices and workplace standards.
About the Role
As an Accounting Intern , you will support the accounting team with day-to-day financial and administrative tasks while learning how accounting functions operate in a professional business environment.
This prospect is suitable for candidates looking to build practical experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and accounting administration.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the host company, your responsibilities may include:
- Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing
- Prepare and reconcile bank transactions and financial records
- Assist with invoice processing and payment reconciliation
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation
- Perform data entry using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Assist with payroll administration and employee records (where applicable)
- Prepare financial reports,
spreadsheets, and supporting documentation
- Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and internal controls
- Provide general administrative support to the finance and accounting team
Requirements
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
- International students are welcome to apply
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or SAP is advantageous but not essential
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
- Availability for at least 3 days per week
