We’re seeking an experienced Mental HealthWorker/Peer Support Worker to make a meaningful impact in thevibrant community of Kadina . You’ll supportindividuals with complex mental health needs whilecontributing to the well-being of this thriving town in thisfull-time position.

About the Role
This role calls for a collaborative spirit and the confidence towork independently across a range of psychosocial programs,including:
- NAPS Program (Non-Acute Psycho Social): Supporting individuals with ongoing psychosocial needs.
- IPS Program (Intensive Psycho Social): Providing intensive support for complex cases acrossUnitingSA.
You’ll be making decisions in partnership with individuals experiencing serious mental health conditions ,often alongside co-morbidities such as alcohol and otherdrugs, personality disorders, physical health conditions, andhomelessness . Your ability to engage respectfully withcarers, families, and professionals across hospitals, communitymental health, and allied sectors will be key to your success.
This position involves complex case management ,assertive advocacy , and connecting andreferring people to specialist services . You’ll alsoprovide crisis support , requiring flexibility andthe ability to respond quickly to unplanned situations.
Occasionalweekend work may be required.

What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who’s not only skilled but passionateabout making a difference. You’ll need:
- Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in HumanServices or Certificate IV in Community Services, Disability,Mental Health, or Mental Health Peer Work.
- Checks: DHS Working with Children Checkand NDIS Worker Screening.
- Experience:
- Working with diverse client groups andpeople with serious mental healthconditions .
- Managing complex cases and providingcrisis support .
- Navigating NDIS and Aged Caresystems .
- Supporting people experiencinghomelessness andco-morbidities .
- Liaising with hospitals and community mentalhealth teams .
- Skills:
- Assertive advocacy and strong communication.
- De-escalation techniques and working with complexclients.
- Flexibility to respond quickly to unplannedsituations.
