About the role Red-gate is looking for a skilled engineer to join on a five-month fixed-term contract focused on transforming documented legal processes into fully operational automated systems. - Identify and automate repetitive high-volume administrative processes with particular emphasis on streamlining contract intake procedures and NDA routing workflows throughout the organization
- Architect and deploy sophisticated AI agentic workflows leveraging large language models including Claude to intelligently process and respond to legal department requests
- Eliminate stopgap solutions currently in place such as Microsoft Forms by building permanent automated infrastructure that provides greater reliability and scalability
- Set up and configure various legal technology platforms encompassing contract lifecycle management software, DocuSign electronic signature capabilities, and SharePoint document management systems
- Create thorough documentation covering all implemented automations and operational procedures to enable smooth knowledge transfer to permanent staff members

- Maintain regular communication with the General Counsel regarding build progress and timeline adherence through structured status reporting
- Evaluate existing workflows for additional automation opportunities beyond the initially documented processes
- Establish testing protocols to validate that automated workflows perform correctly before deployment to production environments
- Design error handling and exception management procedures to ensure automated systems fail gracefully when encountering unexpected inputs
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure all implementations meet organizational standards for data protection and system access
- Create user guides and training materials to help legal team members interact effectively with newly automated systems

Requirements

- Demonstrated track record of rapidly building and deploying process automations or workflow solutions without requiring lengthy discovery or analysis phases before beginning implementation work
- Direct practical experience architecting and constructing AI agentic workflows that utilize large language models such as Claude for intelligent task processing and decision support
- Capacity to work autonomously while effectively managing a prioritized backlog of deliverables within the strict five-month project duration
- Comprehensive understanding of the operational challenges and risk considerations that commonly affect in-house legal departments and corporate counsel teams
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities including the skill to translate complex technical implementations into accessible explanations for colleagues without technical backgrounds
- Immediate availability to commence work or ability to start within a maximum one-week notice period from offer acceptance
- Experience delivering projects with fixed deadlines and transparent accountability for outcomes

- Comfort working in environments where requirements may evolve and priorities shift based on business needs
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a pragmatic approach to finding workable solutions quickly

Nice to have

- Prior hands-on experience implementing or administering legal technology solutions such as contract lifecycle management platforms, matter management systems, or electronic signature tools
- Professional background in business analysis, process reengineering, digital transformation initiatives, or robotic process automation implementations
- Familiarity with legal department operations including common workflows around contract review, compliance tracking, and matter intake
- Experience working directly with executive stakeholders including general counsel or chief legal officers
- Knowledge of data privacy requirements and how they impact legal technology implementations
- Understanding of integration patterns between enterprise systems commonly found in corporate environments

Skills & tools

- Large language models with specific expertise in Claude for building intelligent automation
- Low-code and no-code automation platforms including Power Automate and Zapier for rapid workflow development
- Lucidchart for process mapping interpretation and documentation
- Robotic process automation tools for handling structured repetitive tasks
- Contract lifecycle management software for end-to-end contract handling
- DocuSign for electronic signature workflow configuration
- SharePoint for document management and collaboration infrastructure
- Microsoft 365 ecosystem for enterprise productivity integration

Practical notes

- The recruitment timeline has been accelerated with the intention of having the selected candidate in place by the end of July 2026
- Benefits package includes private health insurance coverage, a monthly wellbeing allowance for personal health activities, and paid time off entitlements
- Every application submitted receives review by actual human team members rather than automated screening alone
- Candidates should be prepared for a streamlined interview process given the urgency of filling this position
- The hybrid arrangement provides flexibility while ensuring regular face-to-face collaboration with the legal team
