The Berry Collective

Lismore

The Berry Collective is Australia’s leading purveyor of berries. It is a joint venture between Mountain Blue and Oz Group that connects growers, retailers, and consumers to achieve the best return for growers and the best quality for consumers. Through progressive retailer relationships, a relatable communication style, and a passion for process and quality improvement, our customers keep coming back for more.

We take immense pride in delivering the highest-quality fruit to our customers. Our reputation is built on excellence in both products and services. We work closely with farms, warehouses, and packhouses that share our dedication — with the shared goal that every berry we provide is something we’re proud of.

About the Role

Join The Berry Collective as a Category Demand Planner (CDP), managing a portfolio of growers, packhouses, and retailers in a high-volume, fast‑paced environment. This role requires strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you’ll facilitate smooth supply chain communication between the business, customers, and growers, and prepare daily information in collaboration with the Category Manager (CM), working cross‑functionally across The Berry Collective and its members.

We’re looking for someone with a can‑do attitude who understands that occasional communication outside standard business hours — to keep supply chains moving — is part of the role. For the right candidate, there are opportunities to progress beyond this position.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Collate customer and grower forecasts for the produce categories, then build and communicate volumes and production plans to the Category Manager.

Prepare and update forecasts for major accounts, including program changes, in consultation with the CM and COO.

Maintain optimum inventory levels across all SKUs and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).

Manage daily quality reporting to growers.

Create tray and punnet forecasts for the CM and COO, and help manage national volumes.

Act as first‑line support for 3PLs on the internally developed management system and its administration.

Provide backup coverage for the Category Manager and Compliance Manager when they are on leave or unavailable.

About You

We’re seeking a strong communicator who thrives in a dynamic, rapid‑paced environment. Most importantly, you bring a can‑do attitude. You’ll also have:

Experience in a similar role or industry preferred — we welcome candidates who demonstrate the right personal qualities, mindset, and potential.

A proven ability to communicate concisely, relevantly, and on time.

Exceptional attention to detail.

The ability to collaborate effectively across business functions.

Intermediate computer skills across standard office programs.

A flexible approach to working hours, balanced with the ability to manage workload and maintain a healthy work‑life balance.

A tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, or Marketing (desirable, not essential).

Previous experience working with major supermarket chains (highly desirable).

An enjoyment of solving problems as part of a team.
