General Sonographer – South East Melbourne

Scope Radiology is seeking an experienced and motivated General Sonographer to join our growing diagnostic imaging team across our South East Melbourne sites.

This part time opportunity, working 2–3 days per week on an agreed roster, offers flexibility while contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred ultrasound services across a diverse range of examinations.

You will work in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment where your expertise, professionalism and commitment to patient care will contribute to excellent patient outcomes. The role also provides an opportunity to support the ongoing development and growth of our ultrasound services.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations, including general, abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging.

Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images and document relevant clinical information to support diagnosis and patient management.

Provide exceptional patient care by ensuring a professional, respectful and reassuring imaging experience.

Maintain current clinical knowledge and follow approved imaging protocols, best-practice techniques and safety standards.

Collaborate closely with radiologists, referring practitioners and other healthcare professionals to support efficient and effective service delivery.

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with professional standards, quality assurance requirements, workplace health and safety obligations and relevant legislation.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate positively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Work across nominated Scope Radiology sites in South East Melbourne, as required.

About You

The successful candidate will have:





Current accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).

A recognised postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound, or an equivalent qualification accepted by ASAR.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified Sonographer.

Demonstrated competency across a broad range of general ultrasound examinations.

Strong technical skills and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality diagnostic imaging.

The ability to work confidently and independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to outstanding patient care.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to clinical excellence, quality assurance and continuous professional development.

A professional and positive approach, with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, colleagues and referring practitioners.

Current Australian working rights and the ability to work across our South East Melbourne sites.

A flexible part-time opportunity working 2–3 days per week, with working days to be agreed.

Competitive remuneration of $65–$85 per hour plus superannuation, based on experience and demonstrated competencies.
