Independent Diving Contractor | 2–3 Days per Week
REDCLIFFE PENINSULA AND BRISBANE BAYSIDE
Are you a capable diver who genuinely enjoys helping customers and takes pride in getting the job done properly?
Dirty Boat Bottoms is looking for one or two exceptional divers to join our team on an independent contractor basis for approximately two to three days per week.
The work will primarily be across the Redcliffe Peninsula and Brisbane Bayside, including Manly and Raby Bay.
Diving experience matters, but attitude matters just as much. We are looking for friendly, dependable people who communicate well, solve problems and approach each job with a genuine can-do attitude.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will carry out underwater hull cleaning and marine maintenance on recreational and commercial vessels. Your work will include:
- Cleaning vessel hulls, waterlines and running gear
- Cleaning propellers, shafts, rudders and underwater intakes
- Inspecting vessels and identifying potential maintenance issues
- Photographing underwater components
- Completing accurate Vessel Condition Reports
- Replacing owner-supplied anodes when required
- Communicating professionally with customers, marina staff and other team members
- Treating every customer’s vessel with care and respect
This is hands-on, physical work in a marine environment. You may work independently or alongside another diver, depending on the job and location. THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role will suit someone who understands that being a outstanding diver is only part of the job. You will also be representing Dirty Boat Bottoms and helping customers protect one of their most valuable assets.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have
- A recognised recreational or commercial diving qualification
- Recent and regular diving experience
- Experience using SCUBA and/or surface-supplied breathing apparatus
- Their own basic dive gear, including wetsuit, mask, fins and boots
- A current manual Australian driver’s licence
- Reliable transport
- Australian working rights
- Strong spoken and written English
- Availability for approximately two to three weekdays per week
- The ability to work as an independent contractor and hold or obtain an ABN
HIGHLY REGARDED The following would be advantageous:
- Previous underwater hull cleaning experience
- Commercial diving experience
- Marine maintenance or boating experience
- A current boat licence
- Familiarity with propellers, anodes and vessel running gear
- Experience preparing inspection reports and taking underwater photographs
