Senior Accountant / Manager - Tax (Part-Time, Fully Remote)

Indiana Advisory is a Sydney-based Chartered Accounting and advisory practice specialising in small-to-medium businesses. We deliver high-quality, trusted accounting and advisory services with a solid focus on proactive, year-round tax management - not just end-of-year compliance. Our clients are kept informed of their tax position throughout the year, not surprised after the fact.

We’re now looking for a Senior Accountant / Manager to take ownership of tax compliance and ongoing tax management for our client base on a permanent, part-time and fully remote basis.

The role

This is a senior, outcome-based role with a strong technical focus on tax compliance, accuracy, and proactive, year-round tax management. You’ll have clear ownership across our client base, working independently with minimal noise and zero busywork.

Your core responsibilities will include:

- Preparing company,



trust and individual income tax returns for company directors only (we do not service individuals generally)
- Managing tax journals in Xero, ensuring tax positions are accurately reflected in client ledgers
- Preparing and/or reviewing BAS
- Providing proactive email updates to clients on BAS and superannuation liabilities using our automated workbooks
- Performing year-round tax planning, including calculating income tax liabilities to date for companies and directors
- Liaising with the ATO when required
- Nice to have, not essential: Preparing written pieces of tax advice.

What this role is not

- No bookkeeping or “clean-up” work
- No exporting TBs into external ledger software for manual adjustments
- No client relationship management
- No staff management
- No timesheets, our success as a firm is based out on outcomes not time clocked!
