HEW Level 8 salary + 17% super and staff benefits About The Role Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a highly capable and strategic professional to join the School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education as a Senior Advisor, Strategic Initiatives and act as a trusted and strategic partner to the School Leadership Team - providing high level advice, analysis, and operational support to enable effective leadership and decision making. As the Senior Advisor, you will operate with a high degree of professional independence and judgement, leading complex initiatives, undertaking strategic analysis and research, and providing advice that will inform executive decision-making. The position requires a strong understanding of the tertiary education sector and the ability to navigate ambiguity, manage risk, and influence outcomes across a complex stakeholder environment.
You will work closely with senior leaders, academics, professional staff and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes that contribute to the ongoing success of the School and Swinburne.
About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Extensive experience in a high-level administrative role, which required high level creative, planning and management functions.
Demonstrated high level planning, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated capacity for flexibility, agility and innovation, while maintaining commitment to achieving outcomes in a project management framework.
Excellent written communication skills including the ability to research, prepare reports, policy documents and presentations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of management including senior executives and external organisations, and excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated capacity to prepare high quality presentations, reports and documentation.
Highly proficient computer skills, in particular MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, university student management systems and database applications.
Qualifications Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive management experience and proven management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
