Hybrid | 6-month contract | Banking & Financial Services

We are looking for an Enterprise Analytics Engineer to join a major banking and financial services division in Sydney on an initial 6-month contract. This is a build role. The division's reporting landscape has grown organically across multiple teams, leaving fragmented datasets, duplicated models and heavy manual effort. You will consolidate that into a single trusted analytics layer on Google Cloud, and enable self-service analytics through ThoughtSpot on the Enterprise Data Platform.

What you will do

- Assess the current data architecture and reporting landscape
- Consolidate multiple sources, tables and models into a trusted analytics layer
- Design and implement a centralised enterprise data model
- Build curated semantic layers for analytics consumption
- Optimise reporting datasets and SQL workload performance
- Enable and support ThoughtSpot integration




- Automate report refresh and reduce manual effort
- Partner with business stakeholders on dashboard and reporting requirements

What you will bring

- 7+ years in enterprise data engineering
- Advanced SQL, query optimisation and data warehousing expertise
- Robust dimensional modelling skills
- Cloud data engineering on Google Cloud, BigQuery strongly preferred
- Hands-on dbt, Airflow (or equivalent orchestration) and Python
- Data governance, lineage, ownership and metadata management experience
- Performance tuning and optimisation
- Experience supporting BI and reporting platforms

Nice to have

- ThoughtSpot experience, including Spotter or Sage
- Power BI, Tableau or Looker background
- Financial services or banking experience
