Your impact At Jacobs, we're solving some of the world's most critical infrastructure challenges through creative engineering and design solutions. As we continue to grow our Buildings and Places business across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region, we're looking for an experienced Senior Associate Structural Engineer to join our Brisbane team and help deliver complex and impactful projects across a range of sectors. This senior position is suited to an experienced structural engineering professional who enjoys combining engineering excellence with client leadership, project delivery, business development and market growth.
You'll play a key role in shaping structural solutions, strengthening strategic client relationships, mentoring emerging talent and helping drive the continued growth of our Buildings business. Working as part of a collaborative and highly skilled team, you'll lead the delivery of structural engineering projects while partnering with key public and private sector clients. You'll have the opportunity to influence project outcomes, shape growth opportunities and further develop Jacobs' reputation as a trusted advisor in the market.
Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of structural engineering design, assessment, rehabilitation and consultancy services across a range of building projects
Provide technical leadership, including design reviews, assurance activities and guidance to project teams
Manage the successful delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard of quality
Act as a trusted advisor to key clients, building long-term relationships and helping shape solutions to complex challenges
Lead business development and work-winning activities, identifying growth opportunities, developing client relationships and supporting successful pursuits
Prepare and contribute to major proposals, bids and tender submissions
Work closely with project managers and business leadership to deliver successful commercial outcomes
Support the ongoing development of Jacobs' structural capability across Australia,
New Zealand and the broader region
Mentor and develop engineers across the team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Here's what you'll need Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
Significant experience delivering structural engineering solutions within the buildings and infrastructure sector
Demonstrated capability in structural design, project delivery and technical leadership
Strong understanding of commercial project drivers, including project planning, budgeting and risk management
Proven experience developing and managing strategic client relationships within a consulting environment
Demonstrated success contributing to business development, work-winning and proposal activities
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience mentoring and developing junior engineering talent
Strong problem-solving ability, coupled with a strategic and innovative mindset
