Advanced Smiles is seeking a Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our team in Oakleigh South, VIC on a part-time basis. This role combines administrative and clinical support, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a energetic healthcare environment. You will be instrumental in creating a welcoming experience for our patients whilst providing essential support to our dental professionals. Your contribution will directly impact patient satisfaction and the smooth operation of our practice.
What you’ll be doing
- On the day you are allocated to reception you will be greeting patients and managing reception duties, including scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records, answering phones, processing patient payments and managing billing enquiries
- On the day you are allocated to dental assisting you will be assisting dentists and prosthetists during clinical procedures, including instrument handling and patient comfort measures
- Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to infection control protocols
- Maintaining a clean and organised clinic environment
- Communicating with patients regarding appointment reminders and treatment information
- Supporting the wider dental team to ensure efficient daily operations
- Managing stock levels and maintaining inventory
- Ordering dental supplies and ensuring the practice is well organised
What we’re looking for
- Experience working as a dental assistant, receptionist or in a similar healthcare support role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to make patients feel at ease
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and general computer skills
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and health and safety standards
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A friendly, professional demeanour and genuine passion for patient care
