About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a casual Linen Porter within the Support Services Department. Shifts include day and afternoon hours across weekdays and weekends. As a Linen Porter, you will be responsible for the safe, timely and hygienic supply of linen across clinical and non‑clinical areas of RCH, ensuring compliance with Infection Control guidelines and AS/NZS Laundry Practice Standards. Your strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and customer focus will enable you to deliver a high‑level service to patients, families and colleagues.

Your Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of infection control principles and procedures
- Well‑developed communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proven interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in a hospital setting desirable
- Previous experience in a portering or logistics role desirable
- Ability to adapt to a multifunctional and diverse environment
- Willingness to undertake required training
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to resolve conflict in a professionally
- Capability to build and maintain valuable working relationships with a diverse team
- Physically fit for manual work
Other Requirements
- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willingness to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure
