About the role

The Clinical Dietitian will provide evidence-based nutrition and dietetic services to patients, clients and customers of Barwon Health. The role will support consumers and carers to achieve an optimum level of health independence via:

- Provision of comprehensive, co-ordinated and integrated multidisciplinary services
- Provision of consumer-centred care
- Contribution to the development and delivery of high-quality, cost effective dietetics services

Our team at Barwon Health provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical services at University Hospital Geelong, McKellar Centre and Belmont Community Rehabilitation Centre. Our services promote the concept of a cooperative teamwork model, where staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centre care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally the team provide clinical placements for Deakin dietetics students, coordinated by Student Placement Coordinator, and have a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide clinical leadership and supervision: Act in line with organisational values, represent Dietetics across committees and projects, and provide supervision and support to junior staff, assistants, and students.
- Deliver high-quality,



evidence-based dietetic care: Manage a clinical caseload, contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, and provide consumer-centred care aligned with professional standards and best practice.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively: Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and consumers, using clear communication and health literacy principles to support safe, coordinated care.
- Maintain professional standards and safety compliance: Meet credentialing and CPD requirements, adhere to policies and legislation, and actively contribute to occupational health, safety, and risk management processes.
- Drive quality improvement and career development: Participate in audits, research, and continuous improvement activities, engage in reflective practice and supervision, and support a culturally safe, inclusive service environment.

What we’re looking for

- Current or eligible for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status with Dietitians Australia, with a minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate clinical experience in line with Award requirements
- Demonstrated ability to practice independently with well-developed clinical knowledge and skills, and contribute to the development of others




- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships, influence outcomes, resolve conflict, and work collaboratively across teams
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work efficiently in a demanding workplace, and utilise IT systems effectively
- Commitment to ongoing learning, reflective practice, culturally safe care, and alignment with organisational values
