What you'll do
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking parts for their vehicles, providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance.
- Accurately identify parts and accessories needed for various vehicle makes and models using parts catalogs and electronic systems.
- Process customer orders and ensure timely delivery of parts to the service department or directly to customers.
- Maintain an organized inventory of parts, ensuring that stock levels are adequate to meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with service technicians to determine parts requirements for repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to parts orders or availability in a professional manner.
- Assist in the management of returns and exchanges of parts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Stay updated on new products, industry trends, and changes in vehicle technology to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills related to automotive parts and customer service.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and operational standards.
- Utilize computer systems to track inventory, process orders, and manage customer information efficiently.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supporting each other in achieving departmental goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive training or certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a parts department or similar role within the automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems, with the ability to identify components accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software related to inventory management and parts ordering.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced setting and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and inventory levels.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience with specific automotive brands or manufacturers is advantageous.
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and terminology will be beneficial.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role outside of the automotive industry can be an asset.
