What you'll do
- Spearhead the establishment and management of the new Platform, Reliability and Quality division, harmonizing various teams into a cohesive operational framework.
- Formulate and execute a detailed strategy that encompasses infrastructure management, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), developer experience enhancement, and quality engineering initiatives.
- Design and build an internal developer platform that empowers engineering teams to operate autonomously and with greater efficiency.
- Standardize automation methodologies to boost overall technical productivity across the organization.
- Incorporate security measures and quality assurance checkpoints directly within the software development lifecycle to enhance product integrity.
- Supervise operational resilience efforts, ensuring platform reliability and effective management of cloud-related budgets.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineering professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and high performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform strategies with broader business objectives and technological advancements.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize platform functionality and user experience.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continually refine and enhance the platform's capabilities.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate technical strategies and progress, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams focused on platform development, infrastructure management, cloud services, or engineering enablement.
- Proven track record of managing leaders and cultivating high-performing teams in a technology-driven environment.
- Extensive technical expertise in areas such as containerization, cloud computing, networking, and CI/CD pipeline management.
- In-depth knowledge of SRE principles, observability practices, and large-scale platform operations.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing internal developer platforms and self-service tools that enhance productivity.
- A history of successfully integrating automated quality engineering practices and modern delivery workflows into development processes.
- Financial acumen related to cloud cost management and understanding platform economics.
- Strong communication skills,
with the ability to articulate technical strategies to both executive leadership and business stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering a collaborative team environment.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry.
- Previous experience in a financial technology (fintech) setting.
- Certifications in relevant areas such as cloud architecture, SRE, or quality engineering.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in cloud platforms and services, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Strong understanding of programming languages commonly used in cloud environments, such as Python, Go, or Java.

- This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance at the Melbourne location four days every two weeks.
