Role Title: Senior Business Analyst

Length of Contract: 12 Months

Overview

Cathara is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work on a financial system project. Cathara supports complex, high-value and high-risk ICT programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives for core frontline services.

Role Purpose The Senior Business Analyst will undertake the full range of business analysis activities, including requirements planning and management; requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation; and the capture of current business processes and proposed changes, while supporting the relevant Project Manager in executing the project approach and associated plan in collaboration with the business, project team members and vendors as required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Facilitate workshops, interviews and focus groups with stakeholders to elicit, analyse and document business and functional requirements, and manage requirements traceability.

- Conduct walkthroughs to validate and obtain approval of business analysis outputs.

- Provide requirements support and clarification throughout the full project development or implementation lifecycle.

- Undertake and support testing activities, including preparing and executing test plans and test cases.

- Apply business analysis techniques and tools to document requirements, objectives, outcomes, processes, procedures, work instructions and workflows.

- Deliver project documentation in alignment with Cathara project management frameworks, within agreed timeframes and to expected quality standards.

- Manage sensitive information and maintain records in line with information management policies.

Essential Skills and Experience

- 6 years experience as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst,



including requirements gathering, business process analysis and modelling, process mapping, information analysis and modelling, planning, design, testing and system integration using industry-standard techniques in a complex business environment.

- Experience mapping business requirements and processes to product functionality while identifying gaps and opportunities.

- High-level analytical and organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to think laterally and conceptually.

- Highly effective client liaison, change management and facilitation skills.

- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in high-performing teams with priority deliverables, tight timeframes and competing priorities.

- Experience in software integration analysis and delivery support.

Desirable Skills and Experience

- Experience with Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0 or a similar standard.

- Experience working in a government workplace and/or a background in finance projects.

- High-level interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with team members and stakeholders.

- Ability to work in a large team comprising people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

- A self-starter with strong personal drive and a positive attitude.
