Our client is a large, well-known not-for-profit healthcare provider currently two years into a board-funded, multi-year data transformation. They are moving off a legacy on-premise environment onto a up-to-date cloud data platform. The technology foundation is now in place, and the focus is shifting to what matters most: getting the organisation to actually trust, use and make decisions with the data.
This is a newly created role sitting within a growing data and change function, created as the program moves from delivery into embedding real, sustained adoption across a complex, multi-site environment. This is a blend of technical and cultural change.
About the role
- Lead the enterprise-wide change and adoption strategy for the data program, you're fine-tuning and executing an existing, board-endorsed strategy, not designing one from scratch
- Build genuine engagement across senior leadership, the executive team and clinical stakeholders who want to use data but don't yet understand the full potential or value
- Translate technical data concepts (e.g. data governance, data ownership) into meaningful impacts for different stakeholder groups
- Partner with data and digital leaders to align change plans with evolving data architecture and operating models involving a change in mindset and behaviour for leaders across the organisation
- Work closely with data platform and visualisation leads to navigate the genuine grey areas between "the technology" and "how people actually use it".
This role needs someone who can operate confidently in ambiguity, not someone waiting for a clean lane
- Sit across steering committees, with regular contact at CTO and Director of Data level
- Get out from behind the desk, this role includes in-person engagement across sites, more intensive early on to build relationships, moving to a more flexible cadence once those relationships are established
About you
- Strong track record leading enterprise-level change for a data transformation - data experience matters more here than sector experience
- Comfortable working across large, structured, multi-audience organisations - backgrounds in universities, schools, consulting, energy, or other complex services environments are all genuinely relevant, healthcare experience is not essential
- Able to translate technical data concepts (governance, platforms, data models) into language that lands with non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives
- A proactive operator who can build trust quickly, make calls without daily oversight once established, and hold their own across competing stakeholder interests
- Genuine interest in data literacy and how organisations mature their use of data - some awareness of how AI intersects with data use is a plus, though it isn't the core focus of this role
What's on offer
- 12-month contract with genuine potential to extend, on a program with roughly two years still to run
- Salary packaging benefits (including a dedicated meals and entertainment component) typical of the not-for-profit sector
- A rare "second half of the transformation" mandate - the technology is built, the mandate here is to ensure the organisation realise the benefits and gain the value
