About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join a major enterprise data program. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimise modern data warehouse and analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will build scalable data integration pipelines, develop high-quality data models, and enable trusted reporting and analytics across a large enterprise workplace.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern Azure data technologies on a complex data transformation program.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines.
- Develop scalable dimensional data models, including star schemas, to support reporting and analytics.
- Develop and optimise SQL and T-SQL solutions for enterprise data platforms.
- Integrate data from multiple sources into Azure-based data environments.
- Develop and maintain solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL, and related Azure services.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions aligned with business requirements.
- Ensure data quality, performance, governance, and security standards are maintained.
- Support continuous improvement of enterprise data engineering capabilities and best practices.

Requirements and Experience

Essential

- Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or Analytics Engineer.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Experience designing and delivering enterprise data warehouse and data integration solutions.
- Advanced SQL and T-SQL development skills.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse Pipelines.




- Strong dimensional data modelling experience, including star schema design.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure SQL.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.

Desirable

- Experience with Graph Databases (e.g. Neo4j or Microsoft Graph technologies).
- Experience working within government or other highly regulated environments.
