Join Flinders Medical Centre's Women's Assessment Service as a part-time Registered Midwife, delivering specialist care to women across a range of gynaecological and obstetric presentations within one of Adelaide's leading tertiary health facilities. If you bring strong clinical assessment skills and a commitment to person-centred care, this is an opportunity to build meaningful, lasting impact in women's health across the southern Adelaide community.
About the role:
Reporting to the Midwifery Unit Manager, this role provides midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.
Duties for the role will include:
- Commitment to delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the SALHN Integrated Governance Framework and Consumer Engagement Framework and Plan,
- Provide proficient, person centred, clinical midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients in a maternity /gynaecology setting,
- Assists and supports the Midwife Unit Manager in management, clinical, and education activities,
- Plan and coordinate services including those from other disciplines,
- Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for midwifery students, new staff and staff with less experience
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills,
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team,
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision,
- Registered all aspects of maternity and gynaecology Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
- Demonstrated competence in all aspects of midwifery and gynaecology practice in accordance with the relevant standards
