About the Job
There is an exciting opportunity to work with the DevelopmentServices Team as an Environmental Health Officer. This positionprovides professional and technical assistance, information, adviceand reports to the Coordinator Environmental Health, the ManagerDevelopment Services and Chief Executive Officer on all mattersrelated to public and environmental health in the Shire.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide an outstanding level of customer service tointernal/external customers by answering enquiries promptly andeffectively and following up customers to ensure that theirrequest has been satisfied.
- Processing of various applications and applying appropriatepublic health, environmental health and environmentalconditions.
- Undertake various inspections and monitoring activities inaccordance with statutory obligations and operationalprocedures.
- Provide input and implement the Shire’s environmentalhealth plans, programs, strategies and various monitoring andsampling in accordance with statutory requirements.
- Undertake administration duties as required includingpreparing reports, ensuring inspections are recorded andupdating procedures, guidelines and the webpage.
- Liaise and provide accurate and expert level advice tostaff across the organisation, the business and communitysector, other government organisations and the generalpublic.
- Actively review and implement departmental operatingprocedures and continuously look for opportunities to improveprocedures and practices to deliver environmental healthservices in the most effective and efficient manner.
- Develop and produce informative and educational materialsfor distribution to the local community.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position, working 38 hours perweek and includes living and working in the Goldfields DAMAregion.
About you
In order to succeed and thrive in this position, you musthave:
- Tertiary level qualification - Bachelor of Applied Science(Environmental Health) or equivalent acceptable to theExecutive Director of Public Health.
- Experience as an Environmental Health Officer is desirable,remuneration and role will reflect experience.
- 'C' class drivers’ licence.
- Excellent communications skills (both written and oral) andthe ability to negotiate at all levels.

Benefits
Salary Range : $95,000.00 - $103,956.00 perannum dependant on qualifications and experience.
