The Role

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering merchandise financial plans that maximise sales, profit and stock productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop seasonal merchandise plans and budgets
- Forecast sales, gross profit and inventory performance
- Analyse trading results and identify commercial opportunities
- Manage Open-to-Buy and stock investment
- Review and reforecast weekly and monthly performance
- Recommend markdown and promotional strategies




- Partner closely with Buying teams to build commercially successful ranges
- Monitor key performance indicators including sell through, stock turn, margin and GMROI
- Prepare detailed reporting and recommendations for senior leadership
- Identify risks and opportunities and implement corrective action
- Mentor and support Planning Analysts where required

About You

To be successful you will ideally possess:

- Previous experience as a Merchandise Planner within retail
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with planning systems
- Excellent forecasting and inventory management skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders through data and commercial insight
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a rapid-paced retail environment

Experience within apparel, accessories, footwear, children’s products, general merchandise or specialty retail will be highly regarded.
