Salary: UOM 7 – $111,275 – $120,453 p.a. plus 17% super
About the Role
Lead graduate research administration across the University, coordinating policy‑compliant candidature support, building best‑practice systems, training, and processes, and managing a small specialist team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team delivering high‑quality graduate research administrative support across the University.
- Coordinate development and delivery of training, documentation and updates on candidature management for staff and researchers.
- Oversee complex candidature processing and provide expert advice, including managing unsatisfactory progress cases with senior leaders.
- Act as subject‑matter expert for graduate research systems, leading testing and supporting implementation of changes.
- Contribute to Graduate Research strategy, priorities and culture, ensuring responsive, effective support for graduate researchers.
Qualifications
- Degree‑level qualification plus substantial experience in graduate research administration or graduate researcher support within a complex tertiary education environment.
- Strong understanding of the unique academic and personal issues facing graduate researchers.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, engaging diverse stakeholders and managing expectations with professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to design creative solutions and negotiate outcomes in challenging cases.
- Excellent organisation and project management, improving processes and meeting competing deadlines.
- Experience leading, motivating and training a small team, fostering continuous improvement and a positive collaborative culture.
- Confident use of large integrated databases and Microsoft Office, ideally with experience of TechnologyOne or similar systems.
