Senior Electrical Project Engineer (2:1 Roster)

Harry Maxwell has been engaged by a well-known construction and engineering contractor delivering multidisciplinary electrical, civil, and mechanical work fronts for tier-one mining clients.

We are currently searching for a Senior Electrical Project Engineer with robust capability across managing electrical engineering from concept through to commissioning and final handover.

This role will see you leading the full electrical delivery lifecycle, developing scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans, while driving technical excellence and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards.

About the Role:

- Manage electrical engineering from concept through to commissioning and handover
- Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans
- Monitor cost, schedule, risks, and technical performance
- Coordinate engineering teams, contractors, and suppliers
- Lead procurement activities, technical evaluations, and vendor reviews
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
- Lead design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews




- Resolve complex design and construction issues
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and client specifications
- Review installation quality and site documentation
- Manage RFIs, site queries, and design changes
- Witness FATs, SATs, commissioning, and energisation
- Prepare handover and close-out documentation

Key Requirements:

- Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within construction, mining, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure environments
- Proven experience working across high-voltage and low-voltage systems, including design, installation, testing, and commissioning
- Strong capability in electrical design components, drawings, specifications, and project delivery processes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving capability and a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset
- Practical knowledge of relevant Australian Standards including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS 2067, AS/NZS 61439, AS/NZS 1768, AS/NZS 4836, AS/NZS 3007
- Site experience highly regarded
