GIS Asset Officer
Enterprise GIS | ArcGIS | Asset Management | Remote/Hybrid Available
Help shape the future of one of Australia's largest infrastructure GIS environments.
We're recruiting on behalf of a major regional infrastructure organisation that manages thousands of kilometres of critical assets supporting communities and industry.
This is an opportunity for an experienced GIS professional to take ownership of an enterprise GIS environment, improve asset intelligence, and influence strategic asset decisions across the organisation.
If you enjoy combining enterprise GIS, asset management, field mobility and spatial analysis into practical business outcomes, this role offers both technical challenge and genuine influence.
The Opportunity
As the organisation's GIS specialist, you'll lead the ongoing development, governance and optimisation of its Enterprise GIS and Asset Management environment.
Rather than simply maintaining data, you'll help shape how spatial information is collected, managed and used to support long-term infrastructure investment and operational decision-making.
Working closely with engineering, operations and field teams, you'll ensure that GIS becomes an increasingly valuable business platform across the organisation.
The role can be based onsite, remotely or through a hybrid arrangement for the right candidate.

- Developing modern mobile GIS workflows using ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123
- Producing high-quality mapping and spatial analysis

- Delivering GIS solutions that improve operational efficiency
- Working with business stakeholders to identify new GIS opportunities
- Supporting GIS upgrades, integrations and system improvements
- Providing technical leadership across GIS and asset information
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys improving systems rather than simply maintaining them.
You may currently be working as a:

- Asset Information Officer
- Asset Systems Specialist
You'll ideally bring experience with:

- Python or Arcade scripting (desirable)
Qualifications in GIS, Spatial Science, Surveying, Geomatics or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Experience within utilities, irrigation, water, infrastructure, transport, local government or engineering organisations would be advantageous but is not essential.
Why This Role?
This isn't simply another GIS support role.
You'll have the opportunity to:
- Own and influence an Enterprise GIS platform
- Modernise field data collection workflows
- Work with significant infrastructure datasets
- Improve business decision-making through spatial intelligence
- Help shape long-term GIS strategy
- Work with a supportive leadership team
- Enjoy flexible remote or hybrid working arrangements

Location
Based in regional New South Wales with versatile remote or hybrid working arrangements available for the right candidate.
