About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Instructional Designer to join our Education & Training team on a Permanent Basis.
Reporting to the Instructional Design Manager, the Senior Instructional Designer will ensure the successful design and development of quality course content for programs including Vocational Education and Training (VET); Skills for Education and Employment (SEE); Self Employment Assistance (SEA); Career Transition Assistance (CTA); and Employability Skills Training (EST).
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Apply creative problem-solving and adult learning principles to the design and development of training and assessment content, using ADDIE or a similar instructional design methodology.
- Design accessible learning experiences and develop content for diverse, mixed-level cohorts, explicitly addressing varying Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skill levels.
- Lead and manage a small team of Instructional Designers, working closely with the other Senior Instructional Designer to align design practice and quality standards.
- Oversee the development, review and maintenance of training and assessment resources, including engaging print-based and eLearning content aligned with training packages, curricula, the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and Digital Literacy Skills Framework (DLSF).
- Collaborate with trainers and cross-functional teams to ensure content is fit for purpose and improve RTO performance and efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders and ensure training programs comply with LWA, ASQA, RTO, funding, and contractual requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate training delivery and assessment outcomes, driving continuous improvement through collaboration and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support strategic, operational and financial objectives in line with organisational plans and budgets.
- Perform other duties as required.
About You The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:
- Postgraduate qualification (desirable) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design and development for accredited and non-accredited training programs, applying adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE.
- Proven experience designing accessible, inclusive learning content for diverse and mixed-level cohorts, with a solid understanding of Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) considerations.
- Strong leadership, team building, coaching, and performance management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation, negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong judgement, problem-solving, adaptability, and resilience, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Proven project planning, organisation, and time management capabilities.
- Sound cross-cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of ASQA Standards, RTO compliance requirements, training packages, and relevant contractual and regulatory obligations.
- Highly developed digital literacy and proficiency in relevant business and learning technologies.
