Product Development Manager | Manufacturing & Technical

We're looking for a Product Development Manager — Manufacturing & Technical who's as comfortable on the factory floor as they are leading a team. If you love turning great ideas into great products, and take pride in getting the technical detail right, this could be your next role.

About the Role |

Based at our Food Manufacturing site in Footscray, you'll lead the development of recent products and line extensions from concept through to launch, bringing hands‑on manufacturing and technical expertise to every stage.

- Manage the design, formulation and factory trials of new products, produced in‑house or by contract manufacturers
- Provide technical support and advice on new product lines and manufacturing processes
- Manage food costings, nutritional labelling and product specifications
- Oversee day‑to‑day administration of ERP systems for product, recipe and costing data
- Support the Quality Assurance system, including Food Safety compliance
- Source suppliers and manage ordering lists and supplier relationships




- Stay ahead of FMCG trends and bring fresh ideas, aligned with customer insights from our marketing team
- Lead and develop a small team of Product Development professionals
- Run regular NPD meetings with key stakeholders
- Work closely with the executive team to keep products aligned with LaManna's standards for quality and consistency

About You |

- Degree in Food Science & Technology (or related)
- Food technology experience
- 1–3 years' experience in product development, quality or continuous improvement, ideally in FMCG
- Solid working knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, etc.)
- Experience with food costings and nutritional labelling
- Experience managing ERP systems, ideally in a food manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills, confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- A problem‑solver who thinks outside the box and takes initiative
- Energetic, organised, and able to prioritise under pressure
