Based in our modern Adelaide Office we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our established Audit Team. Our audit process is more than a compliance measure; it delivers actionable insights and substantial value for our clients. We work with ASX‑listed companies, privately owned businesses and Not‑for‑Profit organisations, taking the time to understand each organisation’s profit drivers and key risks.
You will use Grant Thornton’s proprietary global audit methodology and the latest technology to drive an efficient, effective audit process and gain a wide range of assurance exposure. You will bring your experience, knowledge and capacity to mentor and coach, focusing on mid‑size clients.
Key responsibilities
- Establish audit objectives and lead a team of auditors to complete an effective audit process.
- Identify and report on client financial risks with regard to external financial reporting requirements.
- Execute and deliver a variety of external audit client engagements methodically and effectively.
- Prepare high‑quality audit reports and related documentation.
- Manage and mentor team members on each project engagement team to continually develop the team's skills and experience.
- Build successful client relationships with a positive, can‑do attitude and agility to multitask across competing priorities.
- Research difficult audit technical issues and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to identify business development opportunities that add value.
Skills & experience
- Previous audit experience in a mid‑tier or Big 4 professional services firm.
- CA qualified or holding a similar relevant overseas qualification.
- Strong communication and consultation skills to engage directly and effectively with company owners,
CEOs, CFOs and other stakeholders.
- Robust project management skills, able to manage competing priorities and deliver engagements on time.
- Problem‑solving and analytical skills to provide effective solutions and prevent risk.
- Collaborative and consultative approach when working with diverse internal stakeholders from Associates up to Partners.
- Excellent business development skills to build strong relationships and identify opportunities.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, Australian Auditing Standards, ASX Listing Rules and the Corporations Act would be advantageous.
