Senior React Native Developer: Connected Devices

Location: Sydney North Shore

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with a highly successful, Australian-born Internet of Things (IoT) technology company.

With over 30,000 sensors in the field and 10,000 active customers globally, they build intelligent hardware and software solutions that interact with the physical world.

They are looking for a proactive and autonomous React Native Developer to take ownership of their mobile applications.

You will be instrumental in modernising their mobile web experience, adding native functionality, and enabling seamless Bluetooth connectivity between their apps and physical devices.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will lead the evolution of the company's mobile application suite. You will be transitioning existing mobile Web App into a richer native experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

- Building and integrating native app functionality such as Face ID, fingerprint login, custom splash screens, and in-app notifications.
- Containerising the existing web application into a robust mobile wrapper for release on stores.
- Working with different connectivity (Bluetooth, Satellite, 4G etc.).
- Managing the end-to-end deployment process for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
- Mentoring internal team members and sharing your expertise in React Native development.




- Contributing to recent customer-facing web store initiatives when mobile development cycles permit.

What You Bring

We are looking for a true self-starter who does not wait for instructions and thrives in an environment where they can take ownership.

The ideal background includes:

- Strong commercial experience developing and deploying mobile applications using React Native.
- Proven experience independently managing app store releases, including loading, publishing, and navigating store guidelines.
- A background in Start-up/Scale-up or Consultancy environments like start-ups is highly regarded.
- Experience or strong interest in connecting mobile apps to physical hardware is a bonus.
- Familiarity with wrapping applications for app store deployment is a significant advantage.
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning.
