Graphic Design Coordinator

Design the Fitness Spaces of the Future

Matrix Fitness Australia is looking for a visually talented and technically curious Graphic Design Coordinator to join our in-house marketing team.

This is a distinctive early-career opportunity combining graphic design, commercial gym floor planning, 3D visualisation, customer presentations and emerging creative technology.

You will help transform customer floorplans, equipment selections and project briefs into professional 2D layouts, realistic 3D concepts and compelling presentations that allow customers to see how their future fitness space could look and function.

You will also create high-quality visual work across proposals, tenders, campaigns, events, digital content and branded collateral.

One day you may be developing a gym layout and 3D concept for a new facility. The next, you could be designing a customer presentation, creating exhibition graphics or testing an AI-assisted workflow that improves the quality of a visualisation.

This is not a conventional marketing coordinator role and it is not an architecture position. It is an in-house visual design role for someone who wants to combine strong design fundamentals, spatial thinking, emerging technology and commercial problem-solving.

Previous commercial gym planning or ECDesign experience is not required. Training, templates, product knowledge and ongoing support will be provided.

About Matrix Fitness Australia

Johnson Health Tech is a global health, fitness and wellness organisation operating across more than 40 countries. Its portfolio includes internationally recognised brands such as Matrix Fitness, Vision Fitness and Synca.

Matrix Fitness Australia supplies premium commercial fitness solutions to gyms, franchise networks, councils and leisure facilities, hospitality, education, healthcare, wellness, mining, sport and performance environments across Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Marketing Manager, you will work closely with the Marketing team and Business Development Managers to produce visual solutions for customer opportunities and brand activity.

A major part of the role is learning to use ECDesign, a specialist fitness planning platform used to create 2D gym layouts, 3D visualisations, rendered images and customer presentations.

Working from floorplans, measurements, equipment lists, drawings, reference images and project briefs, you will turn complex information into clear, accurate and visually compelling outcomes.

Your work will help customers understand proposed layouts, compare options, visualise training zones and make more informed decisions about their facility and equipment investment.

What You Will Work On

- Create polished visual assets across digital, print and presentation formats.

- Design brochures, advertisements, banners, signage, event graphics, customer collateral and campaign creative.

- Produce artwork for email, social media, websites, presentations and digital campaigns.

- Review all work for visual quality, accuracy, spelling and brand compliance.

- Learn and use ECDesign to create commercial gym layouts and customer concepts.

- Translate floorplans, measurements, equipment selections and project briefs into clear 2D layouts.

- Develop realistic 3D visualisations that communicate scale, zoning and spatial relationships.

- Position fitness equipment accurately within customer spaces.

- Support the visual planning of cardio, strength, functional training, recovery and other relevant zones.

- Consider clearances, movement areas, customer needs and practical use of available space.

- Incorporate appropriate flooring, finishes, colours, branding and environmental elements.

- Produce customer‑ready floorplans, still images, presentation views and walkthrough concepts.

- Revise layouts in response to feedback from customers, Business Development Managers and internal stakeholders.

- Maintain organised project files, templates, equipment libraries and completed examples.

- Help establish consistent visual standards for Matrix customer concepts.

Customer Presentations and Sales Enablement

- Create professional presentations and visual concepts for customer meetings.

- Use emerging technology to improve appropriate design tasks without compromising accuracy, brand standards or creative judgement.

- Refine AI-assisted concepts into polished, professionally designed outputs.

- Review generated material for visual quality, accuracy, intellectual property risk and practical application.

- Help develop reusable prompts, templates and workflows that improve creative efficiency.

- Share relevant experiments, learnings and workflow improvements with the Marketing team.

- Handle customer information and internal data responsibly when using approved tools.

Campaigns, Content and Events

- Create visual materials for product launches, campaigns and broader brand activity.

- Support customer case studies, testimonials and success stories.

- Create content variations for different channels, audiences and customer segments.

- Design collateral for conferences, exhibitions, customer events and industry partnerships.

- Assist with booth concepts, wall graphics, signage and equipment presentation plans.

- Prepare production-ready files for event and print suppliers.

- Contribute to broader marketing and creative projects as priorities require.

About You

You may be an early‑career designer with one to three years of relevant experience, or an exceptional graduate with a strong portfolio.

Your background may include graphic design, visual communication, spatial or interior design, architectural visualisation, digital media, 3D design,

animation or a related creative discipline.

You will ideally bring:

- A qualification in a relevant creative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

- A portfolio demonstrating strong visual design, layout, typography, composition and communication.

- Sound Adobe Creative Cloud capability, particularly InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, or comparable professional tools.

- Strong PowerPoint and presentation design skills.

- An interest in floor planning, interiors, commercial environments or 3D visualisation.

- The ability to interpret a floorplan, drawing, diagram or structured brief.

- An understanding of preparing files for digital use and print production.

- Excellent attention to detail and visual accuracy.

- Good written communication and proofreading ability.

- The ability to manage multiple briefs and meet agreed deadlines.

- Confidence receiving feedback and refining work through multiple versions.

- Curiosity about AI-assisted creativity and emerging design technology.

- A willingness to learn ECDesign, Matrix products and commercial gym-planning principles.

- Full, ongoing Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

Experience with one or more of the following is valuable but not essential:

- ECDesign, SketchUp, Blender, Rhino, AutoCAD, Revit or comparable spatial and 3D tools.

- D5 Render, V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion or similar rendering platforms.

- Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, ChatGPT or other AI-assisted creative tools.

- Architectural visualisation, interior concepts, environmental graphics or exhibition design.

- Walkthroughs, fly‑throughs, animation, motion graphics or video editing.

- Print production, presentation design or digital campaign artwork.

Candidates are not expected to know every platform listed. Strong design fundamentals, visual judgement and the ability to learn matter more than the number of tools on your résumé.

The Qualities We Value

You are visually curious, organised and commercially aware. You balance creativity with accuracy and practical functionality. You enjoy learning new tools, refining ideas through feedback and understanding how people experience physical spaces.

You can explain the thinking behind your work, ask questions when a brief is unclear and turn incomplete information into a professional outcome. You are also careful with brand standards, customer information, intellectual property and responsible technology use.
