Purpose of role:

The Training Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that AVWA’s Training and Vocational Services, including its Registered Training Organisation (RTO), fully comply with all applicable standards, guidelines, contracts, and requirements. This role ensures that quality assurance and compliance processes are embedded into everyday practice, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the training team.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- Ensure the Training and Vocational Services including the RTO comply with VRQA Guidelines, AQTF Essential Conditions & Standards for continuing registration, RTO Standards, VET Funding Contracts, and requirements of other funding bodies,
- Be responsible for quality assurance and continuous improvement activities of the Training and Vocational Services
- Undertake reporting, registration, and compliance declarations for the RTO,
- Provide advices, support and training to team members, trainers and assessors to ensure they are always updated and aware of compliance and quality assurance,
- Ensure trainers,



assessor and training staff are able to plan and implement their professional development annually,
- Manage the assessment validation process for pre-accredited courses and qualifications on scope and continuous improvement program,

- Conduct internal audits scheduled annually,
- Work with external stakeholders including auditors, funding bodies and VET regulators regarding compliance and quality assurance,
- Be responsible for updating and developing training resources for the TVS,
- Add recent qualifications on scope when being required

The above list is not exhaustive, and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of AVWA. Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required

- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in compliance and VET industry, preferably valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or education based,
- Sound knowledge of RTO compliance requirements, including VRQA Guidelines, AQTF, Standards for RTOs, and VET Funding Contracts.
- Experience in RTO compliance, reporting, audits, and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of training and assessment practices within the VET sector.
- Ability to provide guidance, training, and support to trainers and assessors.
- Excellent organisational and reporting skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Ability to handle complaints and concerns sensitively;
- Enjoy working with people, friendly and confident manner with a pleasant personality
