Powertech is an Electrical Engineering Services Provider delivering HV/LV & E&I; engineering, installation, commissioning, testing and operations and maintenance services to our clients in the Mining & Minerals, Oil & Gas, Energy & Utilities, Refineries & Infrastructure, Defence, Renewable Energy, Ports & Rail Sectors across Australia, and SE Asia.
Due to a consistent rate of company growth, which is paving the way for further expansion into local markets, we currently have a requirement for an ElectricalConstruction Lead to join us on a full-time basis in our Perth, Malaga based office.
Reporting to the EPC General Manager, Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard
- Lead construction projects to meet safety, environmental, quality, schedule, and cost targets
- Mentor and support the development of team members, including apprentices
- Leading construction activities from planning through to completion, including conducting site audits and resolving issues early
- Liaise with stakeholders and clients to align outcomes with business and project objectives
- Assist with project financial tracking, procurement decisions, tendering, and CAPEX planning
- Support monthly reporting, risk assessments, and audit activities in line with enterprise frameworks
- Manage inventory, tools, equipment, and logistics in collaboration with procurement and suppliers
- Promote continuous improvement, drive innovation, support staff performance, and contribute to broader strategic decisions
- Issue electrical preliminary notices and notices of completion for projects when required
- Be willing to travel locally and to remote locations depending on project requirements
What you'll bring to the team:
- Minimum 2 years' experience leading projects inheavy industrial and utility electrical projects
- WA Electrical Licencewith advanced knowledge of electrical products and standards
- Experience as an Electrical Nominee
- Strong understanding of construction processes (including issuing NOC and ESC), procurement, and material take-offs
- Effective leader with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, MS 365) and project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera P6)
- Skilled in estimating, planning, and scheduling construction works
- Knowledge of contract conditions, including defects, EOTs, LDs, and notice requirements
- Experienced in reviewing and marking up electrical/civil drawings and liaising with engineering teams on buildability
- Solid time management, project coordination, and risk management capabilities
