Deliver high‑quality occupational therapy assessments, planning and interventions in line with professional standards, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The role includes rotation across a variety of clinical areas to build broad clinical experience. Support senior occupational therapists in enhancing service delivery through involvement in quality improvement initiatives and by contributing to the supervision and development of undergraduate clinical placements.

The Team

Our Occupational Therapy service located in Launceston comprises over 40 people delivering services across acute, sub‑acute and the northern Tasmanian community.

Graduate and Early Career Pathway

Our pathway features a rotational program offering occupational therapists foundational practice skills and the opportunity to gain hospital experience in acute medicine, general surgery & trauma, stroke and other acute specialities, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, and home‑based community services. You will be supported by senior occupational therapists and OT clinical leads.

- Rotations 4‑6 months long in a variety of clinical areas.
- 1:1 supervision from experienced Senior OTs or Clinical Leads in each rotation.
- Weekly in‑service program.




- Weekly tutorial program covering topics such as wheelchair prescription, upper limb assessment, traumatic brain injury assessment, neuro‑screening and interventions, home modifications.
- Relocation assistance and social support for recent staff.

Requirements

- Strong foundations in contemporary Occupational Therapy with ability to apply in hospital, outpatient and community settings.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Desirable: Current Driver’s Licence.

Salary & Packaging

The salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025 and is between $81,614 and $117,074 per annum (pro rata). A 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary package includes: up to $9,010 living expenses and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, professional development allowance up to $1,200 per annum.

Hours

76 hours per fortnight, full‑time day worker. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
