Role Information

Title: Clinical Pharmacist (rotational)

Type: Max Term, part time (24 hours per week until July 2027)

Grade: Pharmacist, Grade 1 (Year 1‑5) or Pharmacist, Grade 2 (Year 1‑3)

Location: Pharmacy, St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Sydney

Salary: $83,734.08 – $123,940.80 pro‑rata + Super + salary packaging.

Employer: St Vincent’s Health Australia.

Responsibilities

- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients, including drug dispensing, distribution and medication counselling.
- Deliver accurate and timely drug information to patients and staff to support safe and effective medication use.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Participate in core departmental operations with a focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
- Engage in orientation and structured training programs, with ongoing support to develop skills in clinical pharmacy, dispensing and drug information.

Qualifications and Experience

- Current registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist, with no restrictions on scope of practice.
- Demonstrated competence in clinical drug knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Ability to participate in weekend and on‑call rosters as required.
- Understanding of formulary management principles and the practical application of formulary decisions within a hospital setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.




- Robust analytical and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
- Highly developed organisational and time‑management skills, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
